FURL Terms of Use

Last updated: September 16, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of FURL, a leave and FMLA case-tracking tool offered by Beyond Core Benefits ("BCB," "we," "us," or "our") to K-12 school districts ("District," "you," or "your"). By accessing or using FURL, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use FURL.

2. What FURL Is

FURL is a case-tracking and documentation tool designed to help school district HR staff:

  • Organize and track leave case information
  • Calculate applicable federal (FMLA) and Georgia state (Paid Parental Leave) deadlines
  • Prepare draft notices for the District's review and use
  • Maintain a record of case-related communications and decisions

3. What FURL Is Not — Important Limitations

FURL does not make eligibility determinations. FURL does not approve or deny leave requests. FURL does not provide legal advice. All determinations of employee eligibility, approval or denial of leave, and compliance with applicable federal and state law remain solely the responsibility of the District. FURL is a tool to help the District organize and act on its own decisions — it does not replace the District's own legal counsel, HR judgment, or compliance obligations.

The District is solely responsible for:

  • Verifying the accuracy of any eligibility determination
  • Reviewing, editing as necessary, and approving any notice before it is sent to an employee
  • Complying with all applicable federal, state, and local leave laws
  • Maintaining its own records as required by law, independent of FURL

4. Beta Program

FURL is currently offered in beta to a limited number of invited Districts. The District acknowledges that FURL is an early-stage product that may contain errors, bugs, or incomplete features, and that functionality may change without extensive advance notice during the beta period. BCB will make reasonable efforts to communicate known issues and material changes to participating Districts.

5. Access and Accounts

Access to FURL is by invitation only. BCB controls provisioning of District accounts and the list of authorized users for each District.

The District is responsible for promptly notifying BCB of any authorized user who should no longer have access (e.g., upon that employee's departure from the District).

Login is limited to email addresses pre-approved by BCB for the applicable District. The District agrees not to share access credentials or login links outside of authorized personnel.

6. District Responsibilities

The District agrees to:

  • Enter accurate information into FURL
  • Independently verify all eligibility calculations, deadlines, and draft notices generated by FURL before relying on or sending them
  • Use FURL only for legitimate school district HR and leave-administration purposes
  • Not rely on FURL as a substitute for legal advice or for the District's own compliance judgment

7. Data Ownership

Information entered into FURL by or on behalf of the District remains the District's information. BCB processes this information solely to provide the FURL service, as described in the FURL Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

FURL, including its design, workflows, and underlying software, is the property of Beyond Core Benefits. These Terms do not grant the District any ownership interest in FURL itself.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

FURL is provided "as is" during the beta period, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy of deadline calculations. [PLACEHOLDER — counsel to review and expand standard warranty disclaimer language appropriate for a beta HR-compliance tool.]

10. Limitation of Liability

[PLACEHOLDER — this section requires attorney drafting. Given that FURL's output (deadline calculations, draft notices) may inform compliance-sensitive decisions, this section should clearly limit BCB's liability while making clear that ultimate compliance responsibility rests with the District, consistent with Section 3 above. Do not rely on placeholder language for this section.]

11. Termination

BCB may suspend or terminate a District's access to FURL, including during the beta period, for any reason, including discontinuation of the beta program. The District may discontinue use of FURL at any time. [PLACEHOLDER — counsel to confirm any data-export or transition provisions upon termination.]

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, particularly as FURL moves beyond beta. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page and will make reasonable efforts to notify participating Districts of material changes.
